Lefteris  was born in Athens, Greece in 1972. He  received B.Sc. in Chemistry from University of Ioannina in 1995. He joined Plasma Technology group in 1997 as a PhD student and since then is a regular member of the group.  He received PhD in Chemical Engineering in 2001 entitled "Optimization of microcrystalline silicon deposition process in a variable frequency plasma reactor". June 2009 was elected as an Assistant Professor in the Dept of Chemical Engineering of the University of Patras in a position entitled "Inorganic Nanostructured Materials".

He is an author and co-author of more than 35 papers published in international journals and more than 40 papers published in international conference proceedings in the field of Plasma Processing of materials. He has also participated to several European and National projects related to sustainable energy, health and environment and he has been a guest visitor in several universities and institutes in Europe. The main research interests are Plasma Enhanced Chemical Vapor Deposition of thin films for solar cells and biomaterials, the development and design of new plasma sources and plasma diagnostics, the self-consistent simulation of plasma reactors and the characterization and growth of 2d nano-structured materials.
